Central Sierra (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Northwest Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Central Sierra (8 Man). Earlier in the week, the Guardians triumphed over Shandon 52-13.
Kings Christian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 71 points on Lone Pine.
Faith Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joshsua Johansson threw for 64 yards and Mark Harvey had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Alex Tamayo chipped in 68 yards. Tamayo helped Faith Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Faith Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johansson has thrown for 371 yards and one touchdown this season, while Tamayo has 17 catches for 203 yards. Nick Phillips leads the league in rushing with 230 yards.
A big matchup in Central Sierra (8 Man) this week will be when Northwest Christian takes on Alpaugh. Jeremy Trammell's team is in first place, while the Buffaloes are in fourth place.
