The Marietta Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-38 to Sulphur. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marietta in their matchups with Sulphur: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Aedan Ellison scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brian Sanchez, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Marietta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Sulphur, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marietta will face off against Madill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Madill is coming into the matchup with ten straight victories at home, so Marietta is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Sulphur, they will head out on the road to square off against Dickson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
