Football Recap: Alexander Comes Up Short

Alexander lost against Medina Valley back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs fell 30-20 to the Panthers.

When it comes to explaining why Alexander lost, don't look at Gael Rubio. Despite the final result, he rushed for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Luis Blanco also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.

Alexander's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Medina Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Alexander will challenge rival Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Medina Valley is set to take on their familiar foe United at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Xavier Gonzalez and Jorge Luna.
