Football Recap: American Canyon's Rushing Dominance Continues

American Canyon had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Palmdale Falcons on Saturday as the American Canyon Wolves made off with a 68-47 win. The Wolves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Andre Lopez, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Lopez was just one part of a punishing run game: American Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 523 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards in 22 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

American Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jamar Choyce Jr and Aleki Fale.

Palmdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elleyon Clark, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards and one touchdown. Clark's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Joseph Mason also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.

American Canyon pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Palmdale, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

As of now, neither American Canyon nor Palmdale have any future games scheduled.
