The Morro Bay Pirates posted their closest win since December 18, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past Paso Robles 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morro Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Falat, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sergio Mendoza, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Morro Bay now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Paso Robles, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will square off against Santa Ynez at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paso Robles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Cabrillo will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
