Odyssey Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 72-55 bruising from the Tonopah Valley Phoenix. One positive for the Minotaur, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Xavier Valentine was his usual excellent self, putting up 28 points for Tonopah Valley. That makes it four consecutive games in which Valentine has scored at least a third of Tonopah Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Huerta, who posted 14 points.

Odyssey Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Tonopah Valley, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.

Odyssey Institute has already played their next match, a 78-17 defeat against Yuma Catholic on the 14th. As for Tonopah Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-49 victory against Maryvale Prep on the 11th.
