The Fallston Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Harford Tech Cobras at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Fallston is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought match, but Fallston had to settle for a 50-47 loss against the Rams.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ayla Galloway, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Galloway is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Bolesta Brooke was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Harford Tech's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 52-37 to Edgewood.
Despite the loss, Harford Tech had strong showings from Jessica Castro, who scored five points along with five steals, and Sophia Mace, who scored nine points along with four steals. Castro hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Delaney Klaus, who scored six points.
Fallston's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Harford Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fallston have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 48.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Harford Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Fallston against the Cobras in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 52-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fallston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
