The Middleburg Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Wakulla War Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Middleburg was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fletcher on Monday. The Broncos never let the Senators get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Broncos needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on Izzy Pifer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kerra Clarida, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Middleburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fletcher only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Wakulla had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Gators. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the War Eagles yet this season.
Wakulla also got a great performance from Aislin Hunter as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hunter has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaylee Walker was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbigail Lawhon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Middleburg has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Wakulla, their record now sits at 11-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Middleburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wakulla struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
