Even though the Perry Central Bulldogs have not done well against the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Perry Central escaped with a win against St. Stanislaus by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Perry Central.
Leading Perry Central to victory were Austin Jones and Kaden Bolton. Jones scored ten points along with eight assists and six rebounds, while Bolton dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Bolton has scored at least a third of Perry Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Auston Dantzler, who scored two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Perry Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for St. Stanislaus, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Perry Central will head out on the road to take on Long Beach at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Stanislaus, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Patrick at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in St. Patrick's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
