Green Level is 8-2 against Green Hope since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Green Level Gators will welcome the Green Hope Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Green Level is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
On Tuesday, Green Level was able to grind out a solid victory over Holly Springs, taking the game 53-44.
Claire Barber was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 26 on her way to 27 points and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Green Level's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Baker, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Green Hope's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 69-57 to Panther Creek. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), the Falcons still had to take the loss.
Green Level will have to contain Abigail Brown as she made an impact in Green Hope's last game. She dropped a double-double on 36 points and 19 boards. Brown's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Shawn Sisk was another key player, putting up eight points.
Even though they lost, Green Hope smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.
Green Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Green Level, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Green Level has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Green Hope struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Green Level against Green Hope in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-36 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brown, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Green Level still be able to contain Brown? There's only one way to find out.
