Sugar-Salem has gone a perfect 10-0 against Teton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Diggers will venture away from home to square off against the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. Sugar-Salem will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Sugar-Salem came out on top against South Fremont on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run second inning. The Diggers were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Cougars. The Diggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.
Will Chappell and Dawson McInelly made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Chappell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McInelly didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Chappell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while McInelly went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Chappell has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Sugar-Salem let Hank Carter and Jack Gardner run wild. Carter went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Gardner went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Carter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Chappell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Sugar-Salem lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Teton didn't have quite enough to beat Snake River on Saturday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.
Teton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Olivas, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Olivas has brought in this season.
Sugar-Salem's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Teton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Teton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sugar-Salem has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .515. It's a different story for Teton, though, as they've only averaged .278. Will they be able to contain Sugar-Salem's hitters?
Sugar-Salem took their victory against Teton in their previous meeting last Thursday by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Diggers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
