East Mountain hasn't had much luck against Robertson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Timberwolves will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 9:30 a.m. East Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
East Mountain is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Santa Fe Indian by a score of 8-3.
Aidan Madrid made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Charles Birdwell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for East Mountain: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Zane Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
East Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Robertson challenged Tularosa on Thursday. The Cardinals walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Wildcats. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Like East Mountain, Robertson also got a great game from a two-way player: Brian Lucero. On the mound, Lucero tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Brenen Deisler didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. At bat, Lucero went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Deisler earned two runs and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Lucero has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Robertson let Diego Maez and Elijah Ortiz run wild. Maez went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ortiz got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
East Mountain pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Robertson, their record is now 16-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Mountain has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Robertson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went East Mountain's way against Robertson when the teams last played back in March, as East Mountain made off with an 11-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
