The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes lost against the Temple Christian Crusaders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Timberlake Christian took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. Timberlake Christian has not had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Timberlake Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dayla Sleboda, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Caelyn Davis who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Temple Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Conner out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. Conner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Armstrong, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Timberlake Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Temple Christian, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberlake Christian will challenge the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Ridgeview Christian is ranked 343rd, while the Tornadoes are ranked 364th). As for Temple Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the EAGLES at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Roanoke Valley Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
