After flying high against the Heritage Academy Heroes last Tuesday, the Imagine Prep Storm came back down to earth. Imagine Prep was dealt a 68-29 defeat at the hands of Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way on Friday. Imagine Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-18.
Imagine Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Ernsberger, who scored six points along with 11 blocks and five rebounds. Ernsberger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Berkeley Lowden was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Imagine Prep's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Imagine Prep will take on West Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Phoenix will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Imagine Prep is ranked 97th). As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ridgeline Academy at 6:30 p.m.
