Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for John Hay

John Hay entered their tilt with Bard Early College on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Raptors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-7 back in April.

Sam Kozak made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Kozak was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. John Hay is 3-1 when Kozak posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, John Hay let Beau Harris Jr and Kenn Pilier run wild. Harris Jr went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Pilier went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Pilier is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. London Raglin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

John Hay's record is now 8-9. As for Bard Early College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
