The Westfield Bulldogs will take on the South Lakes Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Westfield after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of James Madison by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Warhawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Ava Petruncio was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hannah Burstein and Carly Austin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Burstein went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Austin went 1-for-3 with one home run. Izzy Lalli was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, South Lakes got themselves on the board against Chantilly on Friday, but Chantilly never followed suit. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.
Not much got past Gracie De La Cruz, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Chantilly off the board. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for De La Cruz.
On the hitting side, South Lakes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Ponce, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
South Lakes' win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Westfield, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like South Lakes struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westfield came out on top in a nail-biter against South Lakes in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
