Kingman is 7-1 against Odyssey Institute since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Kingman Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Odyssey Institute Minotaur at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Kingman is ranked 225th, while Odyssey Institute is ranked 227th).
Last Thursday, Kingman ended up a good deal behind Lee Williams and lost 42-26. Kingman has not had much luck with Lee Williams recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Odyssey Institute sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 win over St. John Paul II Catholic on Wednesday. The win was just what Odyssey Institute needed coming off of a 36-16 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Shelby Hunt, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samara Grubbs, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 steals.
Their wins bumped Kingman to 2-3 and Lee Williams to 4-3.
Kingman beat Odyssey Institute 37-26 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Kingman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Odyssey Institute turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
