Academy for Academic Excellence fell 65-53 to Riverside Prep. Academy for Academic Excellence has struggled against Riverside Prep recently, as their match on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Academy for Academic Excellence still got an impressive performance from Ethan Spidle, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. Spidle scored a full 37.7% of Academy for Academic Excellence's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Malek, who scored 9 points.
Riverside Prep was led to victory by James Macey and Raoul Churchill. Macey scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals, while Churchill scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Macey's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Keion Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 steals.
Academy for Academic Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Riverside Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season.
Academy for Academic Excellence is on the road again on Thursday and play against California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Riverside Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Palm Desert at 7:00 p.m. Palm Desert is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
