The West-Oak Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Crescent. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Anthony Kaliski and Drew Crompton certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Kaliski scored 18 points along with three steals, while Crompton scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Kaliski scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Towe, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crescent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Linker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Bishop, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
West-Oak has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Crescent, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.
West-Oak will take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seneca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Crescent, they will head out on the road to challenge Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Daniel's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Crescent has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
