The Madison Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Millersport Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Madison Christian had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Fisher Catholic on Monday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Irish. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season.
Gabe Lawrence was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Madison Christian is 4-2 when Lawrence allows three or fewer hits, but 3-8 otherwise. Lawrence was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Allen Flickinger was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Griffin Sprague was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Madison Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Millersport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Wellington School, falling 10-0.
Millersport saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Wiseman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Millersport's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Madison Christian, their record is now 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Madison Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Millersport struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Madison Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Millersport in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
