The Byhalia Indians managed to keep up with the New Albany Bulldogs until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Byhalia suffered a rough 73-50 loss at the hands of New Albany. Byhalia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Albany apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
New Albany found their leader in underclassman Braden Shettles, who scored 27 points along with three steals. Kylan Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Byhalia's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for New Albany, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Byhalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Albany, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Pontotoc at 8:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (South Pontotoc is ranked 56th, while New Albany is ranked 77th).
