For the second straight game, Cheyenne Mountain will face off against Discovery Canyon. The Red-Tailed Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Thunder at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cheyenne Mountain's offense. They came up short against Discovery Canyon on Wednesday, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Red-Tailed Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Discovery Canyon's part, the result came thanks to Hugh Tarpenning's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Discovery Canyon let Nate Singleton and Jaxon Ross run wild. Singleton went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Ross went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. That's the most RBI Singleton has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carson Seeley, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Discovery Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cheyenne Mountain only posted a batting average of .167.

Discovery Canyon pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6-1.

Both Cheyenne Mountain and Discovery Canyon just can't seem to miss. The Red-Tailed Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Discovery Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits.
