In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. Among the action were the efforts of Long Branch's junior Jermaine Corbett, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Welcome
Summit has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Montville with a conclusive 51 - 14 victory. 51 is shaping up to be Summit's lucky number as the team posted the same point total in its win over Montville the game before. The victory also thrust Summit into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 21st spot.

Long Branch's 47 - 14 win over Brick Memorial last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Jermaine Corbett. Corbett ran for 318 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Corbett as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.

The dubious honor of 'biggest faller' in the power rankings this week goes to DePaul Catholic, who dropped down eight spots after its game against Mater Dei. Victory was within reach, but DePaul Catholic ultimately lost 28 - 23 to Mater Dei. However, senior Taquan Roberson didn't go down without a fight as he tossed the ball for 381 yards and two TDs.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between St. Peter's Prep (3rd in the power rankings) and St. Joseph Regional (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Both the St. Peter's Prep and St. Joseph Regional defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 13 ppg and 13 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
