The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Midwood in their matchups with the : they've now lost four in a row.
Arianna Mercado was her usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with six steals and five assists for East New York Family Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mercado has scored all season. Michel'le Little was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and six steals.
Midwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for East New York Family Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Midwood will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East New York Family Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Long Island Lutheran is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
