Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Chavez Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 23-6 to South East. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, Chavez couldn't push the score so high this time.
South East was led to victory by Edward Rivera and Senen Carson. Rivera rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown, while Carson gained 136 total yards and two touchdowns.
Chavez has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for South East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Chavez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South East will take on George Washington Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (George Washington Prep is ranked 861st, while South East is ranked 866th).
