In what's become a running theme this season, the Arizona College Prep Knights gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past American Leadership Academy 48-27. Winning may never get old, but Arizona College Prep sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Arizona College Prep was led to victory by Jaylee Aulds and Mariela Navarrete. Aulds scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Navarrete scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Warren, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
American Leadership Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Hancock, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks. Brinlee Clouse was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, American Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Arizona College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for American Leadership Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
Arizona College Prep and Poston Butte will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Poston Butte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
