Humboldt is 1-6 against Highland Park since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Humboldt Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Highland Park Scots at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Humboldt and seven for Highland Park.
Humboldt pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt.
Meanwhile, Highland Park's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 79-58 walloping at the hands of Roseville on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Highland Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Roseville is ranked 90th).
Humboldt now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Highland Park, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Humboldt was dealt a bruising 83-43 loss at the hands of Highland Park in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Humboldt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
