After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Auburn, the Mt. Rainier Rams were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 53-48 W over Kentridge. For Mt. Rainier, this counts as revenge for the 67-39 loss Kentridge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Zach Luz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Martinez, who scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
The win got Mt. Rainier back to even at 2-2. As for Kentridge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Rainier will take on Kentwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kentwood is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Kentridge, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Mountlake Terrace at 2:30 p.m. Mountlake Terrace presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kentridge in Washington (Mountlake Terrace is ranked 42nd, while Kentridge is ranked 217th).
