Elizabethton (Tenn.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, Tenn.), 38-0, on Saturday.
The Fighting Cyclones were up 24-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Ethan Thomas touchdown run in the first quarter.
Elizabethton expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. EHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Zach Moore touchdown run.
With the win the Fighting Cyclones extended their winning streak to 10 games. Elizabethton defeated the Longhorns 42-13 last week.
Caleb Bailey stood out for EHS in the win. The junior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
The Fighting Cyclones came into the game allowing 10.2 points per game. The Highlanders' zero points were well below their season average of 29.7 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Gatlinburg-Pittman, which notched a 48-21 victory over Chuckey-Doak in its previous outing. The loss snapped Gatlinburg-Pittman's 3-game winning streak.
