On Thursday Burgard will take on Medina/Webber/Barker at 6:00 PM. Burgard are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Burgard, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They had enough points to win and then some against Alden last Friday, taking their matchup 42-22. Senior Dexter Lee, who passed for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Burgard's success. Lee has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, we expected Medina/Webber/Barker to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Albion, and they did. Medina/Webber/Barker suffered a grim 12-34 defeat to Albion. Medina/Webber/Barker's loss continues a disappointing trend for the team, making it four losses in a row.
Burgard's win lifted them to 3-4 while Medina/Webber/Barker's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Burgard's success rolls on or if Medina/Webber/Barker are able to steal their positive momentum.
