East's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the West Branch Warriors on Friday. East came out on top against Chaney by a score of 54-44. For East, this counts as revenge for the 60-50 loss Chaney walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
East got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cam'eron Sly out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sly pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Mccray, who scored 18 points.
East's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Chaney, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East will take on Struthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chaney, they will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal Mooney at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Mooneypresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chaney in Ohio (Cardinal Mooney is ranked 81st, while Chaney is ranked 371st).
