Meanwhile, South Fayette waltzed into their game two weeks ago with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Fightin' Planets with a sharp 20-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
South Fayette's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Montour, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.
Montour took their win against South Fayette when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
