The home team had won the previous five meetings between Northeast and Lakewood, and Northeast kept the tradition alive. Northeast's pitchers stepped up to hand Lakewood a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Danielle Brunner was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Baylie Dorr was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Ana Davis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Northeast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .739. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northeast now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lakewood, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Northeast will venture away from home to face off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakewood, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
