After losing to the Liberty Christian Academy Heat the last time they met, the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Wilmington Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 43-20 margin over Liberty Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wilmington Christian Academy.
Kaylie Naki had a dynamite game for Wilmington Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Naki is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Henderson, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Several Heat players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Newkirk, who scored four points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Minner, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Wilmington Christian Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.
Wilmington Christian Academy and Hilltop Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Wilmington Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Thursday. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they and Southeastern Christian Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
