Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Cavazos Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Annapolis Christian Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 62-47 win over the Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their 30-point performance the match before.

Annapolis Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Cavazos led the charge by putting up 16 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Cavazos a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Segundo, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

Annapolis Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Chapel Christian Academy only racked up 11 assists.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah Snellenburg, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Macasadia, who posted 15 points.

Annapolis Christian Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Calvary Chapel Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lifegate Christian the next time they take the court. Calvary Chapel Christian Academy will head out to face Lifegate Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Annapolis Christian Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
