Football Game Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. South Walton Seahawks

Choctawhatchee has gone a perfect 3-0 against South Walton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Indians will challenge the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Choctawhatchee will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Choctawhatchee against Arnold as the team secured a 40-7 win. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Choctawhatchee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamen Zabetakis, who threw for 117 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 69 yards on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 63 yards. Carter Marracco also helped out as he racked up 118 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Walton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let Walton get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Friday. The 13-point effort marked the Seahawks' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

South Walton's win came from a few key players Choctawhatchee will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Max Baker, who picked up 50 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Grant Gilmore did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 109 receiving yards.

South Walton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rowan Easterhaus. South Walton got some further help from Jackson Moffatt: he picked up three sacks and made 12 total tackles.

Choctawhatchee's record is now 6-0. As for South Walton, their record now sits at 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Choctawhatchee against South Walton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 37-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
