The Covenant Day Lions will head out on the road to take on the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Covenant Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Even though Providence Day scored an imposing 55 points, Covenant Day still came out on top. Covenant Day snuck past Providence Day with a 59-55 victory.
Covenant Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Marcus Jr. out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Green, who scored 17 points.
Even though Charlotte Country Day School has not done well against Charlotte Latin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Charlotte Country Day School secured a 53-48 W over Charlotte Latin. The win was just what Charlotte Country Day School needed coming off of a 103-68 loss in their prior contest.
Covenant Day pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow isn't as good as their 16-5 record this season.
Covenant Day came up short against Charlotte Country Day School in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 77-66. Can Covenant Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
