Even though the Lakota Tech Tatanka scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers still came out on top. Mobridge-Pollock snuck past the Tatanka with a 66-61 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mobridge-Pollock.
Lakota Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Gilbert White Jr. and Treyton Sam. White Jr. scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Sam scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sam has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Casey, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Mobridge-Pollock's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lakota Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mobridge-Pollock will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Timber Lake is ranked 94th, while the Tigers are ranked 73rd). As for Lakota Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Todd County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
