Millard South snuck past the Links with a 72-68 win on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Millard South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koby Meyers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Meyers hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bernie Anderson, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Lincoln High lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aj Graham, who scored 19 points. Anania Ruba was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Millard South's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Lincoln High, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Millard South will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Gretna is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.9 points per game this season. As for Lincoln High, they will head out on the road to take on the Discoverers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Columbus is ranked 212th, while the Links are ranked 208th).
