Carmichaels proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the West Greene Pioneers 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the Mighty Mikes sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The result came thanks to Colin Andrews's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dillon Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

Carmichaels' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for West Greene, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Carmichaels will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
