It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-44, which was the final score in N.C. School for the Deaf's's tilt against New Manna Christian on Monday. While losing is never fun, N.C. School for the Deaf can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while New Manna Christian is ranked 174th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Manna Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Demick, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Demick has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Breneman, who scored 17 points.
N.C. School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for New Manna Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
N.C. School for the Deaf won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for New Manna Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Matthews Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
