The Perry Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 58-34 loss at the hands of Grand View Christian. The match was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Perry couldn't quite close it out.
Perry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karagyn Whelchel, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Maci Tunink, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Perry's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.4 points per game. As for Grand View Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Coincidentally, Perry and Grand View Christian will both be playing West Marshall the next time they take the court. Grand View Christian will head out to face West Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Perry will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
