Sachem East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-28 loss at the hands of William Floyd. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sachem East has scored all season.
William Floyd's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shy Hawkins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hawkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayla Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists.
Sachem East dropped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for William Floyd, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Sachem East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. William Floyd will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Musketeers at 2:00 p.m. Central Islip is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
