Berkeley Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landry Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another was Katie Bulluck, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Rocky Mount Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as GRACE Christian only posted a batting average of .185.
High Point Christian Academy came out on top against Wayne Christian on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. High Point Christian Academy let Blakely Bowman and Landyn Smith run wild. Bowman went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Smith went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Bowman has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Allred, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
High Point Christian Academy pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rocky Mount Academy, their record now sits at 12-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rocky Mount Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324.
