Berks Inter-County 1 recap November 5, 2013
Governor Mifflin extended the longest winning streak in Berks Inter-County 1 this week by beating Conrad Weiser, 21-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mustangs.
Exeter Township took down Daniel Boone 41-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Manny Soto ran for 146 yards in the win.
Aidan Brosious was a passing and rushing force as the Scouts fell to Governor Mifflin. He completed 11 passes for 134 yards and also ran for 20 yards. Brosious' key target this week was Pierce Brosious, who caught 5 passes for 109 yards.
Nick Hughes put up the best numbers through the air as the Blazers lost to the Eagles. He finished with a total of 5 completions for 84 yards and 1 touchdown.
Pottsville's Tyler Moser and Travis Blankenhorn led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Moser has thrown for 1,116 yards this season, while Blankenhorn has 28 catches for 631 yards. Daniel Boone's Kyle Myers leads the league in rushing yards with 1,146.
Alex Guilbe of the Conrad Weiser is just 53 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 144 carries Guilbe has put up 947 yards this year.
Exeter Township made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,417 from 2,742. The improvement was largely due to a 41-6 victory over Bill Parks' team last week.
