James F. Byrnes waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They put the hurt on Boiling Springs with a sharp 75-50 victory. Given James F. Byrnes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kayzzin McDowell, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanife Hill, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Dorman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 85-44 win over Boiling Springs. That looming 85-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Dorman yet this season.
James F. Byrnes is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Dorman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.
