Wyatt Kimmel put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Milton-Union got a big performance out of Logan Keys, who scored a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Dylan McGuffey was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Northwestern had to kick off their season on the road two weeks ago, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past Franklin Monroe 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 9, 2024.
