Newington had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  1-0  victory over the Enfield Eagles  on Saturday. This was payback for the Nor'easters, who suffered  a  3-1  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Nate Parlapiano paced Newington's offense, picking up three kills. Parlapiano got some help from  Tristan Gorman and his nine assists.
 Newington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  1-0  win against Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley on the 5th. As for Enfield, they will hit the road for the first time this season to  challenge  South Windsor  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
