2A District 7 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Adair extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 7 this week by beating Chelsea, 35-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Warriors.
Pawhuska took down Chouteau-Mazie 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Colton Calvert was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 64 yards on nine carries as Caney Valley lost to Nowata. Teammate Jared Ward added to the ground attack by rushing for 52 yards.
Hines was the best wideout in the league this week as the Trojans lost to the Ironmen. Hines tallied four receptions for 75 yards. Kyle Knight helped Caney Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 31 yards.
Caney Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ward has thrown for 963 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Hines has 18 catches for 368 yards. Ward also leads the league in rushing with 651 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Adair takes on Oklahoma Union. Mark Lippe's team is currently in first, while the Cougars are in fourth.
Nowata led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Caney Valley.
