The Valdosta Wildcats and the Carrollton Trojans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Valdosta Wildcats had to settle for second. Valdosta took a 45-28 bruising from Carrollton. Valdosta was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carrollton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
When it comes to explaining why Valdosta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Todd Robinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Deron Foster also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.
Carrollton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimauri Farmer, who rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Caleb Odom was in the mix too, providing Carrollton with two touchdowns.
Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Carrollton, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Valdosta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carrollton will face off against Walton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Walton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
